It has been correctly researched that obesity and diabetes are bed partners. Research studies have indicated that what you eat determines how you live. Therefore it is extremely necessary to make sure that not only what you eat is right, but also that you keep your weight in check. The fact is that overeating, and thus obesity is the root cause of innumerable health problems all over the world, including the United States.
However, it can be said that in United States this problem is at its worse, owing to the fact that more than half of the population in the United States has an obesity problem.
This phenomenon of being obese is called the problem of over nutrition. The importance of a good and healthy diet cannot be stressed enough. It has been established that nutrition has an important role to play in the generation and treatment of at least 50 % of the diseases. Some of these diseases include heart diseases, few types of cancer, diabetes, stroke and atherosclerosis.
Obesity is basically caused when a person eats too much food that is not healthy, and also does not utilize the consumed energy. The energy that is not used up gets stored as fats in the body and takes the shape of obesity.
Obesity is the most widespread and most serious health problem which people tend to ignore. Many diseases other than diabetes, such as hypertension and gall bladder problems are also directly related to obesity. Hence it becomes all the more important to control it by having a healthy diet.
These diseases are basically caused when a certain nutrient is consumed more than the body’s requirement. In case of diabetes, the cause is the increase in the amount of sugar level in the blood of the patient. Therefore, when a person who is obese carries excessive sugar in his or her blood, then he or she is bound to be a diabetic.
It is important to remember that in order to prevent diabetes one must stay away from obesity problems and also maintain a healthy diet in order to make sure that the sugar level in the blood does not raise.
For this the first most important thing to remember is to keep a sugar free and low calorie and carbohydrate diet. This is of course for those who are already facing the symptoms of the disease. For those who are only trying to keep the disease at bay, it is not necessary. In fact they should know that low sugar level in blood too can cause various problems. Hence if you are of a normal weight please don’t start having low sugar diet!
Importance of a good and healthy diet can therefore never be ignored. Not only does this prevent diabetes and various other obesity related diseases, (many of which are not only incurable, but also life threatening in nature), it can also go a long way in making your life better.
