What A Person With Diabetes Should Consider While Shopping

Before going for shopping, a person suffering from diabetes should first consider what type of diabetes is he suffering from. Because, every diet for diabetes is dependable on its type. But there is something common while planning of diabetes diet. You should take care that at least 50% to 60% calories should come from carbohydrates, 12% to 20% from protein, and not more than 30% from fat. You should aim for two targets, either lose weights or improve health, or both.

 

In structuring a diet for diabetics, one should consider the following foods for diabetes:

- All types of meat, i.e. beef, bacon, pork, etc.

- Even include the organ meats, i.e. liver, kidneys, heart

- Every type of poultry

- Continental sausage

- Fats of all animals and meats

- Seafood and fish

- Eggs

- All types of cheese

-Cream and butter

-P lain and full-fat yogurt

- Fruits and vegetables

- Condiments

 

But in the diet for diabetes, there are some recipes for diabetes which should be strictly – - – avoided. They are:

- Artificial sweeteners and sugar

- Chocolates and sweets

- Foods whose ingredients end with -ol or –ose

- “sugar-free” and “diet” foods

- Foods and grains made from wheat, barley, bread, pasta, pastry, cakes, etc.

- Vegetables containing starch, i.e. potatoes

- Beans

- Low-fats yogurts and sweetened

- Cottage cheese

- Fruit juices

 

According to the American diabetes diet, it is suggested that people suffering from diabetes should need the same nutritional food as anyone else in a community. As per this type of diabetes association, diet sugar can be digested as it is converted to glucose. A person should reduce weight as it will increase the natural insulin as well as blood pressure.
