For all diabetes patients it is absolutely crucial to know about the disease of hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia. The patients keeping a record of their blood glucose levels must know how to treat and in fact also recognize the two conditions of hypoglycemia and Hypoglycemia

Hypoglycemia is a condition where the patients suffer from low blood glucose. Therefore, if you have low glucose in your blood, it is advisable you find out more about hypoglycemia. This usually occurs very suddenly,

Hyperglycemia is just the opposite condition. It occurs when the glucose level in the blood increases. This occurs in those individuals who are diabetic, either dependent on insulin or not dependent on insulin.

These two conditions are not very difficult to understand and anyone can learn to diagnose or at least learn to suspect the onset of these disease, when the symptoms are well understood. The symptoms are quite visible and not likely to go unnoticed.

Some of the most common symptoms (sign) of hyperglycemia include increased thirst with the mouth and skin appearing to be perpetually dry. As the blood glucose of the patient rises over 240 mg/dl, the patient may begin to notice an increase in his or her urine output. Also, while there is an increase in thirst, there is a loss of appetite.

However, one stops feeling energetic and is almost perpetually tired and drowsy. There is fatigue and loss of vitality in the person. Nausea and vomiting too is very frequent.

Hyperglycemia cure basically deals with taking regular and a strictly followed insulin doe. This is extremely important to ensure that the symptoms are well controlled. Eating meals properly is also advisable. The patients must also go for regular tests for glucose and test the urine for the so called ‘ketones’ about once in two hours.

The symptoms (sign) of hypoglycemia, includes hunger, leading to excessive craving for food. The patient may experience grouchiness and irritability, for no specific reason as such. There can be regular headaches and one may find difficulty in sleeping properly. One tends to feel anxious more often once again, for hardly any specific reason. There is sweating and general weakness too. The patient may also find it difficult to think logically or as it is better understood as ‘thinking straight’. The condition may cause trembling and quick heartbeats.

Since hypoglycemia mostly occurs all of a sudden, hypoglycemia cure deals with immediate treatment of the problem. It is best controlled if the patient takes in carbohydrate in some form of the other. This means that the patient can take in some sugar immediately. One can have sugar cubes probably or glucose tablets.

It is necessary to know that during an attack the body needs sugar in such a form that can act and ‘rescue’ you from the trouble very quickly. Most of the times insulin reactions occur when a patient had taken the meal much later, or probably had taken the medicine later than his/ her usual time.

Therefore, though the diseases are not difficult to diagnose, its proper and immediate treatment is absolutely essential. The disease, when not very severe does not pose too many problems. However, if the case is serious the patient may have to suffer some very severe implications.
